My work

My attraction to bright shiny objects began early in life as I roamed the beaches of Chicago’s north shore for bits of sea glass that I happily toted home and squirreled away. And then there was the year that I was to fly to San Francisco to visit my Geologist grandfather when I loaded up an entire suitcase with my rock collection…

My gem habit has taken what I consider a more useful turn in the last few years as I have turned my attention to jewelry making full-time. It began with the discovery of Gemstone BEADs at the local bead shows & I was hooked! From there I went on to discover the stunning Lampwork style beads, which I so loved I had to learn to create for myself. Then there was precious metal clay, and my line of antique flatware rings was born. Seed beads propelled me into learning peyote stitch and thus I have created freeform peyote necklaces and bracelets with my handmade lampwork beads as focals. Extensive wire working and beginning metalsmithing take my work to yet another level……as each year passes, I strive to incorporate new skills, new ideas and new inspiration to keep my designs fresh, fun & exciting!

In 2006, I was happy to welcome my husband, Karl into the business. As I have continued to focus on lampworking as my primary medium, he has honed his skills as a metalsmith. Many of our newest works have the unusual distinction of hand crafted Sterling components in combination with handmade glass beads.

I have sold my jewelry creations in many galleries, boutiques and art fairs around the Denver and Boulder area. Among those are  The Dickens, a holiday market on Pearl St. in Boulder, CO and CoCo Marmalade, on Pearl St. in Boulder, CO.  Currently, my designs are featured at The Bead Lounge in Longmont, CO and LIW Fine Arts Gallery in Manitou Springs, CO .

I also do custom design work for many long-time clients in both bead and jewelry designs.

I am a proud member of Wet Canvas and SRA, Self representing Lampwork Artists.
